The eligibility criteria for appearing in the NEET exam
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, NRIs, or foreign nationals.
Age Limit: Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as of the year of the exam for general category candidates, while for reserved categories, it is 30 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. They must have scored a minimum of 50% marks (for general category) and 40% marks (for SC/ST/OBC category) in the qualifying exam.
Qualifying Exam: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the qualifying exam in the same year can also apply for NEET.
Open Schooling/CBSE Private Candidates: Candidates who have completed their 10+2 from open schools or as private candidates are also eligible to apply for NEET.
Number of Attempts: There is no limit to the number of attempts for NEET, but candidates can attempt only up to the age of 25 (for general category) and 30 (for reserved categories).
